Apprentice Program
For the beginning apprentice fire sprinkler fitter, growth to journeyman requires quality education and experienced instruction. Optimal Fire Protection & Michigan Workforce Development Institute co-sponsor a United States Department of Labor 4 year apprenticeship program. The curriculum has been designed by the American Fire Sprinkler Association with a focus on detailed education combined with hands-on training. All disciplines of the trade are addressed, including project management and job supervision. Successful candidates will be well prepared with a balanced skill set and be able to test for their journeyman at the completion of the apprenticeship program.
Our apprenticeship program has four levels, totaling 8600 hours of combined classroom and hands-on instruction. Each level includes 2000 hours of on-the-job training and 150 hours of instruction and takes approximately one year to complete. Our comprehensive program can be tailored to provide additional resources to meet individual needs. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent to be considered. Interested candidates can send us an email or call (insert preferred contact here).
